MARCH 18 – NATIONAL CLOTHING DAY

On March 18, in honor of National Clothing Day in the country, the Literary Arts Sector of the Library and Information Center and students from the Department of         Culture and Arts held a "National Clothing Day." The event, which took place at the Dulati University Museum, was attended by students as well as the head of the university museum, A. Kalabaeva, and staff from the Human Resources Department.
In Kazakhstan, March 18 is a special day — National Clothing Day. This holiday serves as a reminder of the rich heritage of the Kazakh people and provides an opportunity to immerse oneself in the atmosphere of traditions that live in every seam, pattern, and ornament.
Kazakh national clothing reflects the culture, history, and traditions of the people. Each element carries deep symbolism related to nature, beliefs, and social status. The steppe climate required comfortable, functional, yet elegant clothing.
On this day, every Kazakhstani has the opportunity to express their individuality through clothing and to support the unity and cultural diversity of Kazakhstan. Moreover, today national clothing has gained new life, with modern designers actively incorporating it into everyday style.
The revival of national costumes is not only a tribute to tradition but also a way to preserve cultural identity by adapting it to modern realities.
