Chronicle of 1958-1998

The history of the library and Information Center (Scientific Library) of Taraz University named after M. H. Dulati began back in 1958, as a library of the Zhambyl branch of the Kazakh chemical and Technological Institute, where 3 librarians worked with a book fund of 2900 copies. The number of readers was 400, teachers – 100, employees-25. In 1958, in order to meet the needs of readers, an interlibrary subscription (CAA) service was organized from the reading room, and the Institute signed contracts with libraries in Moscow, Leningrad, Riga, Almaty, Frunze, and Kiev. From 1959 to 1963, 400 orders from 43 teachers were completed.
