ANNOUNCEMENT

May 31 – Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repressions and Famine.

This is a day to remember the innocent victims who perished during the era of Stalinist terror. The harsh policies of the state at that time—famine, mass repressions, persecutions, and forced deportations of innocent people—led to significant casualties among the population. The Kazakh people experienced a deadly famine that inflicted colossal damage on the country's gene pool. Another dark chapter in the national history is political repressions. In the reading room of the Library and Information Center, a virtual book exhibition titled «Өзекті өртер шындық» was organized.
