The World of Gainy the Poetess
As part of the "Aulie-Ata – Reading Region" project, a festive event titled “ReadABookBeInTrend” was held at the Library and Information Center of M.Kh. Dulaty Taraz University, dedicated to the National Book Day. During the event, a literary meeting took place between students and the poetess Gainy Alimbekkyzy, titled “The World of Gainy the Poetess.”
Gainy Alimbekkyzy is a talented poetess from our region, a laureate of the international literary award “Alash,” a holder of the “Kurmet” Order, a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, a laureate of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, and an honored worker in Kazakhstan's information sector. She is featured in the reference encyclopedia 100 Women Leaders.
She is the author of several poetry collections, including Among the White Clouds Lies a Dream, A Bellowing Camel in My Soul, Mirror of Poetry, Land of Swallows, and The Flower You Gave. She is also a laureate of the international competitions “Asia Dauysy” and “Zhas Kanat,” and has worked for over 30 years in the Zhambyl regional television industry. She is currently the editor of the “Biiktik” program on the “Taraz 24” TV channel.
The main goal of the event was to increase young people’s interest in literature and journalism, as well as to provide an opportunity for open communication with a creative personality.
The event was attended by students from the Department of Philology and Journalism, as well as faculty members: Alim Mayra, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Culture and Art; Kulamanova Ziba Abdullayevna, Professor, Candidate of Philological Sciences; Mukashev Temirbay Alievich, Associate Professor, Candidate of Philological Sciences; and Makhashov Bakytzhan Makanovich, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Philology and Journalism. The library staff, led by the Director of the Library and Information Center, Gulzhan Dzhenisbekovna Irzhanova, also participated.
During the literary evening, Gainy Alimbekkyzy shared touching stories about her early creative journey, her path in journalism, her love for poetry, and gave students valuable advice on how to find inspiration and joy, feel the power of words, and build public relations. The students recited the poetess’s verses, asked heartfelt questions, and exchanged opinions. Some wanted to know what inspires the poetess, while others inquired about her creative process.
The following poems by Gainy Alimbekkyzy were read aloud: Motherland, Ancient Taraz – My Aged, Wise Chronicle, Have You Come, My Spring?!, and Lighting the Flame of Hope. The students who took part in the readings were Akimzhan Kuanishuly (2nd-year student, Kazakh Philology), Akylbek Tynyshbek (1st-year student, Kazakh Philology), Oraz Aigerim (1st-year student, Convergent Journalism), Aynara Batyrbek (1st-year student, Karatau Mining Technology College). Akimzhan Kuanishbekuly also dedicated a poem of his own to Gainy.
At the end of the literary evening, the Director of the Library and Information Center, Gulzhan Dzhenisbekovna Irzhanova, presented a Letter of Gratitude to our esteemed guest Gainy Alimbekkyzy on behalf of the university administration. We hope this spiritually enriching and touching event will remain in the hearts of the participants for a long time and that the events under the “Aulie-Ata – Reading Region” project will continue.
